A clearer answer before you buy
I’m Derek. I started Digital Derek to help you avoid product regret. Online shopping gives you plenty of star ratings, enthusiastic clips, and lists of “best” products. What is harder to find is a straightforward answer: did the exact item solve the problem, what was frustrating about it, and who would be better off skipping it?
What you can expect
Every hands-on review shows the exact product that was used. You will see the problem it is meant to solve, what happened in normal use, the most important drawback, and a clear best-for or skip-if answer. If testing is not complete, the page will say so instead of rushing you toward a shopping link.
Where AI fits
AI helps search broadly, organize sources, compare product identities, and find claims worth checking. It does not touch the product or make the final recommendation. I choose the exact item, use it, record the original photos or video, explain the tradeoff, and stand behind the answer.
What you will not find here
You will not find copied Amazon reviews, fake ownership claims, hidden drawbacks, or an unsupported “best overall” label. Research-only pages are marked clearly and are never presented as firsthand reviews. No test means no verdict.
